Brian graduated from Lehigh University with a B.A. degree in Architecture where he was honored with several awards for his accomplishments and leadership skills, including the esteemed Lehigh Undergraduate Merit Award – the highest honor bestowed upon an undergraduate student by the Alumni Association. He then went on to graduate school at the University of Maryland where he received a Master of Architecture degree. Additionally, he studied architecture and land planning overseas in Paris, France learning about both modern and classical design strategies. Brian worked several years for the eighth largest (at that time) architecture firm in the nation, Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership (ZGF) in Washington, DC and Spillman Farmer Architects in Bethlehem, PA conducting urban design and architectural work for large-scale commercial, institutional, and civic projects. He also has lectured on various green building topics at Lehigh University, The Goodman Center for Real Estate Studies, and venues/events throughout the country including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 3 (Mid-Atlantic) Office (Philadelphia, PA) and NeoCon (Chicago, IL), the largest interior design show in North America.
In the June 2011 issue of Professional Builder magazine, Brian was honored and recognized as one of the top 40 Under 40 home-building professionals in the United States. In April 2013, Brian was also honored by regional publication, Lehigh Valley Business, with a Forty Under 40 Award in recognition for his significant contributions made throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley region. In October 2013, the Delaware Valley Green Building Council, Lehigh Valley Branch presented Brian with the prestigious Sustainability Award for Individual Leadership honoring the outstanding individual who “exemplifies the spirit of sustainable design, construction, and management within the Lehigh Valley.” In October 2013, Brian had the great honor of being selected as one of twelve jurors from across North America to help judge the 2013 U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon hosted at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, CA; which was won by Team Austria: Vienna University of Technology with their LISI (Living Inspired by Sustainable Innovation) House. In February 2014, Brian was honored with the prestigious national NAHBGreen Individual Advocate of the Year Award from the National Association of Home Builders honoring the individual who has demonstrated unique dedication to informing and inspiring home builders and the public about the benefits of green building for homeowners and for the planet. And in October 2015, Brian was selected once again to participate as one of twelve jurors to help judge the 2015 U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon also hosted at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, CA; which was won this time by Stevens Institute of Technology with their impressive SURE (sustainable + resilient) HOUSE.
Brian is also an accomplished Pennsylvania licensed REALTOR® (see his real estate website here) in the Macungie, PA office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors as part of The Mick Seislove Team. In addition to holding the OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) 10-Hour Card in Construction, Brian is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional with both BD+C (Building Design + Construction) and Homes specialties from the U.S. Green Building Council, a Master Certified Green Professional from the National Association of Home Builders, a former Certified Building Analyst from the Building Performance Institute, and a RESNET (Residential Energy Services Network) Rater Member. Serving on the Board of Directors since 2007, Brian is a past President of the Lehigh Valley Green Builders and a former Supervisory Committee member of the Lehigh Valley Branch, Delaware Valley Green Building Council. As Director of Marketing & Design, Brian presently oversees the company’s marketing and sales as well as the architectural design department. Furthermore, Brian helps nurture lasting relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, real estate agents, and most importantly, homeowners.
