Welcome to this alluring home in its picturesque panoramic setting! Our firm is truly grateful to have been chosen to design and craft this truly one-of-a-kind, high-performance custom residence. Top priority for this amazing project was to design a striking, but comfortable, energy-efficient home that captures all the breathtaking amenities that this bucolic Northwestern Lehigh perch offers, most notably its nearly 360-degree views overlooking its own scenic private pond and the plentiful gorgeous mountain vistas beyond.
When designing the floor plan, it was clear that the memorable views had to be enjoyed from inside the home, too. While all the bedrooms on the second and third floors, the walkout basement, and the generally open first floor are all very accessible to the views in several directions, perhaps the most notable example of this is the expansive wall of windows in the kitchen that are elegantly detailed to rest upon the stunning 2 1/2” thick quartzite countertops. Our client has shared with us that losing many of the commonly placed wall cabinets for almost an entire wall of glass was well worth the sacrifice so that they can experience that remarkable view day after day, season after season!
Around nearly every corner of this extraordinary home rests conspicuous vignettes filled with not only prominent design brush strokes, but also more finely layered details. Whether it’s the exquisite real natural stone, genuine reclaimed beam work, tailor-made cabinetry, custom metalworking, well-coordinated plumbing and lighting fixtures, random-width wide plank white oak floors, unique stair and railing design, natural stone work, built-in dinette with family-harvested black walnut tabletop, or the distinct dog room complete with a walk-up dog wash and functional Dutch door, this remarkable residence provides a quaint comfortable ambiance while also offering plentiful nuggets of visual intrigue inside and out!
Another integral part of this home and its connection to the beautiful landscape is the thoughtful covered exterior spaces which not only help provide necessary shelter from rain and snow or address scale considerations with prominent overhangs creating desirable volumes of shade and shadow, they also help to shape enjoyable outdoor ‘rooms’ perfect for cherished family time or even sizable gatherings.
